Conservation NH Policy
Conservation NH pays attention to the environmental policy matters discussed by the decision makers at all levels of government, and brings attention to those that may harm, or enhance, our quality of life in the state. We work to ensure that conservation issues are a priority, for the sake of our present and our future.
To this end, we provide regular updates and opinions on key environmental policies making their way through decision-making bodies. These have included legislation on State Parks, the Renewable Portfolio Standard, and the Land and Community Heritage Investment Program amongst many others. You can find some of our latest news on policy issues below.
We also create a Legislative Scorecard, providing an objective rating of state legislators based on their votes on environmentally-relevant legislation. This scorecard is produced at the end of the legislative session. The 2010 Scorecard will be available in July.
We want you to do more than read about policy issues, though. New Hampshire citizens take pride in their participatory politics, and we know that you’ll want to take action on some of these issues before we are stuck with the consequences of bad decisions. So be sure to contact your legislators when you want your opinion to be heard.
