Ms. Hackler goes to Washington

Our very own Executive Director, Susie Hackler made her debut in Washington, DC for a lobby day with the League of Conservation Voters. Over 60 conservation leaders converged on Capitol Hill for over 100 meetings. Some of the highlights include a meeting with the top energy advisors to the President (originally scheduled at the Whitehouse, but moved to an adjacent building – still very exciting to attend).

Susie was also able meet with all four in the delegation. The meetings included a discussion of the top federal issues: climate change and clean energy/energy efficiency as well as a robust discussion of what’s going on back home in these areas.

The day ended with a gala at the Reagan Center with over 600 people attending a star-studded fundraiser. There, the exciting program included fabulous food, networking and an excellent program including excellent remarks by LCV’s Gene Karpinski, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and a comical/engaging talk by Senator Al Franken (D-MN). A great trip!
